![]() ![]() Ship 3 arrives a couple minutes later and gets maybe 5-6 rum. The island has (say) about 14-15 rum at this point, so that's all that Ship 2 can grab. Suppose you've got 60 rum in storage when Island 1's ship arrives, and Ship 2 arrives just a couple minutes later. Say Island 1 needs 50 rum per shipment, and Islands 2 and 3 each need 25 rum per shipment. I've definitely had this thought before during gameplay, but in the long run, route timing shouldn't matter. That'll solve the problem you're describing of Ship 1 taking “too much” rum - might as well have it take all the rum it can take and then have it be the hub for distribution to the other two islands.īut more generally: it sounds like you're saying that if the three ships were spaced out at an even interval, they'd all have enough rum. ![]() there's a lot of variables.įirst of all, /u/Takarazuka012's comment is good advice about how to actually handle the logistics of distributing goods from one region to multiple islands in a different region. wind speeds, cargo slow downs, items that can affect speed and loading speed, wait time at Piers, and so on. I didn't address trade route timing because that is a question that gets asked a lot and it's not exactly an exact science. Use the minimum stock feature in your trading post on your main islands to keep enough rum on hand to sustain your people, and then pick up the excess to drop off at the other islands. Last, it's actually easier to transport everything from the production island to a single island in the old world, and then use another trade route to drop off at the other islands that need the rum. ![]() Second is what sort of ships are you using? I would always recommend using a clipper to start until you get cargo ships and then switch over to the cargo ships immediately. Be sure your supply meets or exceeds the demand. Use Ctrl Q and then you can Ctrl select each island in question.the production island forum and then the consumption islands. The calculator might not take a few things into account. So, is there any way to know how long trade routes trade?Īnd if not, what’s your way of keeping all your islands adequately supplied?įirst use the production statistics screen to ensure that you actually are producing enough rum. Let’s say an island needs 2t/min, and the trade route needs ten minutes, I would therefore only need to transport 20 tons of rum on that ship (maybe 25-30 to have a backup). So if I could check how long a trade route actually takes to come back from the new world, I could then alter the trade routes accordingly. Now, I know how much t/min of rum each island consumes. Island 1 ends up with a huge surplus of rum, while islands 2 and 3 always struggle. That is because, ship 1 takes too much rum, ships 2 and 3 don’t get enough, because the island isn’t producing new rum fast enough. I know that I theoretically produce enough rum (I’m using a calculator :P) but some islands are always without rum. But I have only 1 New World Island where I produce rum. I have 3 old world islands with different amounts of population. Hey guys, so I’m trying to supply rum and new world stuff to my old world islands, but I’m not quite sure how to set up trade routes so that all islands are supplied well. ![]()
